Newham Philharmonic

A new orchestra for young Londoners

The Newham Philharmonic was a new orchestra experience for young Londoners. We invited the most skilled 16-25 year-olds in the area to play under a professional conductor at some of London’s most prestigious venues.

Under the baton of Matthew Scott Rogers (Royal Ballet) Newham Philharmonic made their world debut in April 2016 at Barbican Centre and Lister School with a performance of Brahms’ Symphony No. 1.

The Newham Philharmonic’s 2017 season was indefinitely postponed due to lack of funding, but future developments are in the works.
