1 July 2022 Newham braced for Passing the Torch 2022
This summer, thousands of students from primary and secondary schools across the London Borough of Newham will take part in ‘Passing the Torch 2022’ from the iconic Lee Valley VeloPark, at the heart of the Olympic Park.
Ten years on from the inspirational London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, thirty schools will participate in this showpiece event at the world renowned venue where several cyclists won gold a decade ago.
Amongst the lucky 30 schools in Newham, our sensational young singers and performers will get the opportunity to showcase their skills in the 6,000+ seater arena on the tenth anniversary of the Games.
Over 1,500 students will be performing inside the velodrome on Wednesday 6th July 2022 at what promises to be Newham’s biggest event since the global coronavirus pandemic, which hindered many chances for young musicians to perform together.
All of the materials and the resources for the event can be found here.
