Festival of Youth

Each summer, Newham Music invites hundreds of young people to participate in immersive musical activities and concerts through singing, playing, and performing at our Festival of Youth showcase. These interactive days are designed to celebrate the talent of every child throughout Newham. Through their participation, students will:

-build their musicianship skills, including performing with others.
-gain a great sense of accomplishment being a part of a large-scale production.
-learn and play songs together with children from other schools, cultivating their social skills and boosting their self-esteem through the enjoyment of music.
-have the chance to perform in award-winning venues such as the Theatre Royal Stratford East, the Troxy, and even the Barbican.

Passing the Torch

The 2022 Festival of Youth will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games which took place largely in our own Newham borough! It will also mark the return of large-scale, in-person music performances for our young people as we bring 2,000 children and young people together for an interactive day of music-making and performance.  You can find the Teachers Resource Pack here, the Learning Resource slides here, and more resources for the individual songs using the links below
