Shirley J Thompson selected for Coronation composition

Shirley Joy Thompson OBE, from East London and formerly of Newham Music, has been selected as part of the King’s Coronation.

Congratulations to local musician and Newham Music alum Shirley J. Thompson who will be composing for the coronation of His Royal Highness King Charles III.

Shirley is one of just 12 composers commissioned to create new music for the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort. The official ceremony will be taking place on Saturday 6th May 2023.
