Welcome to Newham Music Hub: Westfield Stratford City!

6 February 2024

Newham Music has opened a brand new venue at Westfield Stratford City, complete with soundproof recording and practice booths, a stage for performances and a flexible workshop space.

We welcome the community to take part in a range of activities at Newham Music Hub: Westfield Stratford City.

For families with younger children, First Steps provides early years activities on weekday mornings and musical fun for all the family on Saturdays. Young people can develop skills in music production, recording techniques, and lyric writing in weekly Studio Sessions. Launching on 20 February, Vocal Academy is a progression route for children and young people who love singing. For adult instrumentalists and singers, The Flotsam Orchestra has taken up residency on Monday nights, welcoming a diverse range of musicians to share music together.

During half term (12-16 February) look out for:

  • Taiko Drumming – try out this traditional Japanese instrument on 12 and 14 February.
  • First Steps sessions for early years children and their older siblings and adults on 12, 13 and 14 February.
  • Gig School – a free music-making opportunity for 12-17 year olds on 15-16 February.
  • Newham Music’s Open Mic – a showcase for young musicians of any genre on 16 February.

Many events are free or pay what you can. Visit our What’s On pages for further information, session times and to book.

We also look forward to our partners taking over the space for gigs, workshops, rehearsals and more!
