Young Leaders

Newham Music’s Young Leaders scheme is a great introduction to leadership and employment, giving Newham’s young people aged 16-25 the opportunity to develop/gain the knowledge and skills needed for personal and future career progression.

What is the Young Leaders scheme?

Newham Music’s Young Leaders scheme is a great introduction to leadership and employment, giving Newham’s young people aged 16-25 the opportunity to develop/gain the knowledge and skills needed for personal and future career progression. This paid scheme offers experience and support in a variety of areas ranging from music facilitating to projects and events management.

What’s involved?

Young Leaders will work closely with the Newham Music team and any external partners to plan and deliver high quality music education projects in their community. Each Young Leader will work a minimum of 40 hours, attend Youth Ambassadors meetings and write a blog post reflecting on their time on the scheme. You will also be matched with a mentor from the Newham Music team who will be your main point of contact, oversee your progression and support you throughout your placement.
